Kuthiramalika Palace is one of the major attractions of Thiruvanandapuram district. It is also called Putthan Malika palace. This palace got its name Kuthiramalika due to the design of 122 houses carved in wood which supports the roof of the palace. Kuthiramalika palace was constructed by Swathithirunal Rama Varma in 1840, on the southern side of Padmanabha Temple. One portion of the palace has changed into a museum which houses large number of ancient royal properties. The major attraction of Kuthiramalika Palace is 2 royal thrones, one is made of ivory and the other one is made of crystal. It is one of the famous tourist spot in Thiruvanandapuram.
